This is the Traffic Max Lightbar from Premier Hazard. It is of modular construction and this model has 16 LED light modules, containing 128 LEDs. This lightbar uses what is known as LED X light heads. These are extremely bright, and the lightbar is aimed at the top end of the market, ie police traffic cars. You will also note

this lightbar is “fully loaded”, meaning there is no center sign. This is reflected in its price. This model costs, well I can’t find a price on line but expect it to be in line with Vision Alert for the model below.

The Vision Alert Lightbar we are looking at here is Streetlaser which is part of the “15 Series “lightbars the company makes. The nearest size we can compare is the 47” lightbar, which has 12 LED light modules. The company says the following about their product.

“At only 2" (50mm) tall the 15 Series LED lightbar offers high intensity LED warning with modern, low profile aerodynamic styling.
The Streetlazer series of LED lightbars offers the ultimate in low profile and compact warning safety. Featuring high intensity ultra bright directional LEDs, a toughened polycarbonate housing and rigid aluminum base. The Streetlazer LED bar is perfect for small to medium size vehicles where greater warning visibility is essential.”
The Streetlazer Lightbar is certainly bright. Most people will have seen this lightbar in action on the AA recovery vans up and down the country.
The Cost, well expect to pay £950.00 + vat.
HAZTEC

Haztec make some great looking lightbars. I’ve only seen their rotator lightbars on the road as they are used where I live by Kent Highways. This is the new Haztec Xcess LED Lightbar. This is what the company says about this product.

“Xcess Lightbars are modular in design and incorporate fully flexible state-of-the art electronics to allow for all possible operational requirements.
Programmable options and functions are all included to meet individual needs.
4 Corner Led Modules are required for full 360 degree warning. Each of the raised four corner modules consist of 2x6 high power led modules positioned at different angles providing a total of 48 Leds with state-of-the-art optic lenses designed for optimum 360 degree cover without the need of extra directional led modules.
Up to 4 twin halogen modules can be incorporated in each lightbar.
Optional Halogen 35 Watts Alley Lights can be fitted side directional or with a 15 Degree forward angle.
Night Dimming mode is an optional programmable feature along with Cruise light mode.
Front and Rear LED Modules consist of 6 leds slightly staggered for optimal signal size and lit appearance. The advanced optics gather the light and then disperse it for maximum energy and the highest possible light output coupled with an 80 degree light distribution angle. All types of Modules can be placed in
any preferred position”.
I can’t give you a price for this top of the range lightbar because I’m not a member of their website at this time, but I would expect them to be in line with Premier Hazard and Vision Alert pricing.

This is the Whelen Liberty LED Lightbar. This could be said to be the lightbar against which others are measured. Whelen products are at the top end of the market and aimed primarily at the emergency services. This is reflected in their pricing. You are however buying the best there is, so not recommended if you are on a budget. Expect to pay £1100.00 + vat for a 12 module lightbar such as illustrated above, but without any spot lights.
