Why Opt for a Digital Siren?

Many users will not realise the benefits of a Digital siren system until something goes wrong. With analogue technology, the sound output is very stilted and sounds a little rough. Redtronic Digital siren systems create a smooth output sound – it’s a much more appealing, modern and alerting sound than analogue models.

Another benefit of having a Digital system is that having a new tone added only means a software upgrade rather than a PCB Redesign. Redtronic Digital Sirens are leader’s in their field – the introduction of Digital technology has evolved sirens to a new generation. More and more forces are taking on the Redtronic siren due to its advanced capabilities.

All sirens within the EM500 DIGITAL SIREN range have had an upgrade. The processor has been redesigned to modify the input voltage to give a constant 60w or 100w output (with only a +/- 3w variation). This has been modified to allow for higher voltage vehicles whilst not blowing speakers. This is believed to be the first of its kind and is an extremely intelligent system.

The problem was first brought to light when it was noticed that newer vehicles were giving off more than 13.8v. The voltage given off by the alternator was more like 15.8v – this dramatically increased power to the units and therefore altered the output to the speaker. This problem was immediately resolved through a change to the microprocessor software. This is the benefit with using Digital Technology. If your current siren is a different manufacturer’s model, it is doubtful it will be as advanced as the REDTRONIC EM500 range.
